Sources of conceptions of educational assessment by three general secondary school mathematics teachers
Abstract
The research aimed to reveal the source of the conception of educational assessment of three general secondary school mathematics teachers. It was of a qualitative approach and data were produced by means of a semi-structured interview. Textual Discourse Analysis was used to analyze the data. From the results, no new conceptions of educational assessment were identified, the conception of assessment as a measure of learning prevails. It is concluded that the conceptions of these teachers have two sources: teacher training and everyday experiences. It is suggested the incorporation of Evaluation in Mathematics as a subject in the curricular structure of the training course for mathematics teachers. © 2022 Fundacao Cesgranrio.
